Summary
What if there was a way to communicate WITH your body instead of against it? Oh wait, there is! In this episode, I bring on Intuitive Living Coach, Sarah Mlnarik, to talk about the ins and outs of listening to your body and ditching the diet for good. We all grew up with moms jumping from one diet to another and somewhere along the way we’ve found ourselves doing the same. This episode introduces all that becomes possible when you stop restricting yourself and start living fully!
Key Takeaways:
- Reconnect with your own body and mind instead of chasing the external results
- Simple steps to get started on your own intuitive journey
- View yourself as your best friend to help you change your relationship to yourself
- What anti-diet actually means
- The diet industry is really good at getting you to come back for more
- You need fuel to do the things you want to do and have the life you want to have – that fuel comes from food
Why do I keep losing weight and gaining it back no matter how many diets I try?
Because your body remembers past restriction and adapts. Each time you diet and then stop, your metabolism and hunger cues recalibrate to protect you from what it reads as starvation, so the next diet tends to work less well than the last. It’s not a willpower problem, it’s a body doing exactly what it’s designed to do.

What is intuitive eating and won't it just make me eat junk food all the time?
Intuitive eating means giving yourself full permission to eat what your body actually wants, without moral labels attached to food. There’s usually a messy middle phase early on where it feels like you’re eating “too much” of foods you’d previously restricted, but that levels out once your body trusts that food isn’t being taken away again.
How do I start being kinder to my body when I'm used to criticizing it constantly?
Start by noticing your self-talk and naming it (some people literally nickname their inner critic to separate it from themselves). From there, the shift is treating yourself the way you’d treat a close friend, and slowly relearning to trust your body’s hunger, fullness, and energy signals instead of overriding them.
